Biography
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Nanako Yamada holds an MFA from the Tokyo University of the Arts the Department of Crafts, Textile Arts (2005).
She is using paste made from glutinous rice flour and rice bran, which are traditional Japanese dyeing techniques, she is constantly searching for her own unique expression.
The color paste, which is made by adding dye to this paste, this characteristic of resist dyeing at the same time as dyed.
In an age when it is possible to dye any pattern, that's why she goes back to the origins of dyeing, reflecting on traditional culture and techniques, and continues to create new and modern dyeing expressions.
Ms. Yamada shows her works primarily at exhibitions.
