Biography
Nao Mizutani is a jewelry designer and metalworkers based in Tokyo, Japan and graduated in the Metal Carving Department of Craft Tokyo University of the Arts. After graduating, she worked for a jewelry company and is now she is technical instructor at the university. She has held numerous exhibitions and received prizes. In 2022 her work became Cominelli Foundation’s permanent collection of contemporary jewelry.
She cherishes the sense of Japanese aesthetic and creates work with respect for the strength and sadness in nature. She is fascinated by the expression that appears when metal wires are assembled, and this production, which continues to repeat the same act, is an act of preserving a piece of memory that she does not want to forget.
